Minimally Invasive Diagnostics/Hemorrhage
Detection
Description
The non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation technology takes
advantage of the different responses of materials to electromagnetic
radiation, detects and locates intracerebral hemorrhage and
hemorrhage stroke. This technology can be used to diagnose and
monitor closed head injuries in situ in far-forward combat areas and
disaster sites, and will also provide near real-time, limited
functional cranial imaging in far forward areas. This technology is
man-portable and consists of an antenna applicator, battery pack,
electromagnetic radiation source, signal processing unit, and also a
display unit.
